CCA
is committed to providing forums and opportunities for our members to interact with
colleagues who represent the business, political and community leadership of Los Angeles.Our
members represent the senior management and professionals within their firms, ranging from
L.A.'s largest corporations to small businesses and non profits. The industry mix includes
developers, architectural firms, law firms, hotels, film studios, restaurants,
financial institutions, construction companies, real estate companies
trade associations, public relations
agencies, social service agencies, engineering firms and others. |

| MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING |
CCA's monthly
membership meetings are always topical, providing insights into local issues, and are an
excellent opportunity to interact with fellow members.
Members network at the pre-luncheon reception and during lunch with fellow
CCA members and guests.Members also have an opportunity to meet distinguished guest
speakers; including prominent political officials and area business leaders. Past speakers
have included: Mayor James K. Hahn, Chief of Police William Bratton, City Attorney Rocky
Delgadillo, CRA Director Bud Ovrum,County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Councilmembers Jan Perry, Jack Weiss,
Cindy Miscikowski, Greig Smith and Wendy Greuel, LAEDC Chief Economist,
Jack Kyser, and His Eminence Cardinal Roger Mahony. CCA is known
for hosting annually the Downtown Housing Forum, Downtown Commercial
Development Forum, and the Downtown Economic Forecast, as well as the
Mayor's State of Business speech. |

Throughout the year, CCA holds special events for its members. The organization holds
numerous receptions for local and state leaders. Breakfast forums are
also held for topics needing more in-depth exploration. CCA also
produces an annual Holiday Reception that is sponsored by its members.
The 2003 event, attended by more than 450 members and elected
officials, was hosted by the Wilshire Grand Hotel, System Property
Development, The Kor Group, Chevron Texaco, and bp. |

Celebrating its 11th year in 2005, the
Treasures of Los Angeles annual luncheon has become the must-attend
event of the year and annually attracts more than 1,400 of L.A.’s
most prominent government, business, and civic leaders. The event,
CCA’s only fund-raiser of the year, celebrates the diversity,
strength and excellence of our great city, and recognizes Angelenos
who have made outstanding contributions in a variety of fields.
In recognition of CCA’s 80th anniversary
and its leadership in Downtown’s resurgence, we honored the
catalysts of the Downtown Renaissance as the 2004 Treasures of Los
Angeles. They included
Tim Leiweke for Staples Center, the Hon. Richard Riordan and Andrea
Van de Kamp for The Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Downtown’s housing
conversion “cowboys”: Mark Weinstein, Santee Court; Jeff and
Harlan Lee, Flower Street Lofts; Avi Shemesh and Shaul Kuba, Historic
Gas Company Lofts; Brad Korzen, Pegasus; and Andre Balazs, The
Standard Hotel.
Past honorees have included: CNN broadcaster Larry
King, skateboard idol Tony Hawk, legendary entertainers Milton Berle,
Ray Charles and Red Buttons; Nobel laureates Rudolph Marcus and George
Olah; L.A. Dodger legends Tommy Lasorda and Maury Wills; national
academic champions Marshall High School and El Camino Real High
School; award-winning actors Richard Dreyfus and Nicholas Cage; the
Tony Award winning musical The Lion King and non-profit and community
organizations that contribute to L.A.’s quality of life.
