Los Angeles Convention Center Modernization and Expansion

AEG recently announced a proposal to modernize and expand the Los Angeles Convention Center and the JW Marriott in time for the 2022 Super Bowl through a public-private partnership. Join us to see the project's initial design for what is one of the most anticipated projects in the last decade.

Special Guests: Martha Saucedo and Ted Tanner, AEG

Pershing Square Art Plan

Pershing Square, as the center of DTLA, is an incredibly important and key park of our community.  Councilmember Jose Huizar, Now Art L.A. and the Department of Recreation & Parks are looking to create a new, exciting and innovative strategy – Pershing Square as the premiere public art destination – as it aptly reflects the vibrant cultures that define Downtown. This will be done by installing 3-4 major groundbreaking public art installations as well as an extended curated art program and continued focus on music, education, food, and community engagement throughout the year.

Join CCA to hear about this initiative, which was created as a community consensus, as well as the goals, timeline and additional enhancements proposed.

Special Guests: Carmen Zella, Now Art L.A., and Joella Hopkins, Council District 14

L.A. Tourism's Digital Kiosk

After an initial in-house pilot program, L.A. Tourism partnered with the City’s Department of Convention & Tourism Development, the City’s Information Technology Agency, the Mayor’s Office of Innovation and IKE Smart City to develop a state-of-the-art, interactive digital kiosk to enhance the visitor experience. Join CCA to hear about “IKE” (Interactive Kiosk Experience), which provides a wide range of information and services – not just to assist visitors to Los Angeles – but to also meet the needs of residents, local merchants, BIDs, Chambers of Commerce and a variety of City departments/agencies. Plus, the business model enables the City and host properties to deploy IKE at no cost, including initial installation and all ongoing operations, maintenance and software development.

Special Guest: Adam Burke, Los Angeles Tourism
