 Metro Traffic Reduction Study

In September 2019, Metro’s Board of Directors awarded contracts for the next phase of the agency’s Traffic Reduction Program, a feasibility study that will evaluate potential pilot locations in LA County, including DTLA. Formerly known as Congestion Relief Pricing, the Program’s 18-24-month feasibility study will consider locations for significant investment in the form of increased public transit services, affordable ridesharing, carpooling, safer pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure, in conjunction with congestion pricing strategies. Please join us to learn more about Metro’s Traffic Reduction Study.

Special Guest: Tham Nguyen, Metro Office of Extraordinary Innovation

Protect App-based Drivers & Services Act

The App-based Drivers & Services Act is a state ballot measure sponsored largely by Lyft, Uber and DoorDash to create more flexibility for their workers than currently allowed under Assembly Bill (AB) 5, a recently passed state law that limits who may be classified as an independent contractor. This ballot measure aims to restore the ability for drivers to set their own schedules, locations and work for multiple companies, while also assuring new wage and benefit guarantees for drivers who work a minimum number of hours, as well as provide customer and public safety protections. Join us to learn more about the ballot measure, its provisions and potential impact.

Special Guest: Sarah Locke-Henderson, Lyft
