LA’s Green New Deal
Mayor Garcetti signed an Executive Directive this month, kicking off his ‘Decade of Action’ to fight climate change. The Executive Directive - intended to accelerate the previously released Green New Deal policy goals – includes a number of measures such as developing a series of bus and light rail infrastructure to improve transit speeds by 30% by 2028 and amending the City’s Green Building code to ensure all new roofs and renovations are cool roofs. The presentation will include an overview of the Executive Directive and a discussion of future Green New Deal policy goals.
