Councilmember Adrin Nazarian
Council District 2
Adrin Nazarian (He/Him/His) fled Iran with his family at age 8 due to political upheaval and war with Iraq, eventually settling in the San Fernando Valley.He attended Pierce College, CSU Northridge, and earned a degree in Economics from UCLA in 1996. While in school, he engaged civically, interning for Congressman Howard Berman and volunteering with youth-focused nonprofits. As a founding board member of Generation Next, he mentored youth facing poverty and adversity.
In 2012, despite being heavily outspent, Adrin won an underdog race to represent California’s 46th Assembly District. He led initiatives to improve senior access, tenant protections, affordable housing, transit, medical disclosures, and established the nation’s largest college savings program. He served until 2022, advocating for his district’s growth and well-being.
