CIFD & EWDD’s Consolidation: What’s Next?

During last year’s budget deliberations, the City of L.A.’s Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD) was merged into the Community Investment For Families Department (CIFD) as part of a cost-saving restructuring. As a result of the merger, EWDD’s business assistance and economic development programs were transferred to CIFD. The department is now responsible for overseeing these programs alongside its existing portfolio under a new organizational structure.
