Mitch Kamin
Chief of Staff, Office of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass

Mitch Kamin is Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.  He manages the Mayor’s City Hall team and drives city-wide implementation of the Mayor’s policy priorities.

Over his thirty-year career, Mitch has been a senior executive at social impact and cultural non-profits, a practicing lawyer and manager of major law firms, and a civic and non-profit board leader.

He served as President/CEO of Bet Tzedek Legal Services, which became the industry leader in pro bono and collaborative service delivery models during his tenure.  More recently, he was a founding partner in the first LA office of Covington & Burling where he was co-chair of the global Commercial Litigation Practice Group as well as the Entertainment and Media Industry Group. Recognized as a consistent sponsor of diverse talent, he has supported and promoted colleagues from their early careers to the most senior commercial and public leadership roles.

A second-generation Angeleno, Mitch graduated from Hamilton High School, UC Berkeley and Harvard Law School. He served the City of Los Angeles as Chair of the HACLA Board of Commissioners and Commissioner of LAHSA, as well on numerous non-profit boards including the Skirball Cultural Center, American Exchange Project, and Liberty Hill Foundation. Mitch has three children with his wife Susan, a long-time music industry executive.
