On February 22, CCA members heard an economic forecast about the future of Downtown. Moderator Dr. Christopher Thornberg from Beacon Economics was joined by panelists Sonnet Hui, formerly of Hazens Group/Jia Yuan USA; Simon Muir, LendLease; and John Readey, Trammell Crow Residential. These are exciting times in Downtown, despite the uncertainty of economic changes in China and the new administration in Washington. Warner Music moving its headquarters to the Arts District could lead to an influx of new media and technology companies coming into the area. The growing density in Downtown is giving the area a new energy and creating a walkable, 24-hour city that is sorely needed. CCA thanks our panelists for the thoughtful discussion; Wanda Chan, Millennium Biltmore Hotel, for hosting the meeting; and Sauli Danpour, Xyvest Holdings, for sponsoring.
