CCA teamed up with Stage Venture Partners for our inaugural Tech Summit. The event at the LA Hotel started with a great panel of different players that work with technology companies: Anna Barber, Managing Director, Techstars; Katherine Ku, Partner, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati; Erica Muhl, Dean, USC Iovine and Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation; and Alex Rubalcava, Co-Founder, Stage Venture Partners. James Malone, Vice President of Leasing at Brookfield Properties moderated the discussion. The panel discussed factors that makes LA attractive to tech companies, the pipeline for students from our educational facilities to tech jobs, and how to create partnerships so that companies can use the products that are created locally. After the discussion, 20 local companies pitched their products, showcasing the innovation coming out of our city and how bright the future of DTLA is.
