Jessica Lall, CCA's President & CEO, joined Mayor Eric Garcetti and a delegation of business and civic leaders as part of a 10-day trade mission to Tokyo, Seoul, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong. They participated in a variety of meetings and events to strengthen relationships and boost investment and tourism in Los Angeles. A few highlights include:

  • Tokyo and Los Angeles signed an agreement to collaborate on preparations for the Olympics and Paralympics. Tokyo will be host in 2020 and Los Angeles in 2028.
  • In Tokyo, there was a signing between Arensis, a biomass to energy system provider and a portfolio company of Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), and Green Mark Energy, a Japanese renewable energy pellet producer.
  • Two Bit Circus, an experiential entertainment company, announced in Seoul that they will be opening in the Arts District in DTLA.
  • In Vietnam, there were MOU signings between the Los Angeles Regional Export Council and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, the Los Angeles Business Council and the American Chamber of Commerce Vietnam, and the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator and the Saigon High Tech Park.
  • In Hong Kong, Next Generation Esports, a Burbank-based gaming and content production company, announced a cross-border partnership between Los Angeles and Hong Kong
