CCA partnered with United Airlines to host a CD14 Candidate Forum at City Club with candidates Senator Kevin de León and LAUSD Board Member Mónica García. The discussion was moderated by Anna Scott, Housing and Homelessness Reporter for KCRW. A range of topics were covered including homelessness, DTLA 2040, redistricting, split roll, rent control and the 4am bill. Events like this forum are important as they help set the vision and goals for the candidates early in the process. CCA thanks its members who attended to support CCA, Downtown and the elected leaders who share CCA's vision for a vibrant DTLA. See photos from the event here.
LMU had a voter registration booth at the event to start registering voters. CCA is partnering with LMU this fall on a voter registration effort for Downtown residents. CCA wants to ensure the residents and stakeholders of Downtown are civically engaged and prepared to vote in this race in 2020.
This forum would not have been possible without Janet Lamkin, President of United Airlines - California, and United Airlines, our Presenting Sponsor. CCA thanks their Supporting Sponsors: California Resources Corporation, Lee Andrews Group, and the Government and Community Relations Department at UCLA.
