Election season is in full swing with many of us receiving mailers and seeing campaign advertisements daily! With so much information being circulated about the candidates and ballot initiatives, we wanted to make sure you had CCA’s recommendations and voting resources so you can meaningfully engage in this pivotal election.
How has CCA engaged with candidates and issues over the last few months?
Local elections are top of mind at CCA because our future political leaders will directly impact how Los Angeles recovers from the pandemic and dictate progress on our toughest issues related to safety, homelessness and housing.
CCA intentionally interviewed and endorsed excellent candidates through our Political Action Committee (PAC) with ultimate deliberation from our Board of Directors. We believe the endorsed candidates share our commitment to Downtown Los Angeles’ vibrant future, a robust recovery from the pandemic and increased opportunity across the Los Angeles region.
We also convened a City Attorney Candidate Forum with BizFed PAC and VICA to shine a light on this important citywide position and help the civic community get to know the candidates and their policy platforms.

When and where do I vote?
After more than two years of the pandemic, “election day” may now be a relic of the past. June 7 – California Primary Election Day – can be considered the last day to vote.
Other Key Dates: LA County will begin mailing ballots to registered California voters on May 9 so there’s plenty of time to cast your vote before June 7. Note, May 23 is the last day to register to vote.
If voting by mail, return your ballot via:
- Mail, no postage needed
- At any participating Vote By Mail Drop Location
- At any Vote Center in LA County (A list of vote centers will be available at least a month before Election Day)
You can also track your ballot to make sure that your vote is counted. Sign up for the free service to receive text message and email updates on your ballot processing. Visit the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s website for more voting resources including the option to request a ballot in a language other than English.
We hope you will use and share these resources. Together, we can help elect leaders who not only recognize how important DTLA’s success is to the entire region but have deep understanding of how to improve safety and wellness, break with the status quo on housing and homelessness and make sure that Los Angeles is a welcoming and livable city for all.
