Thanks to our members and supporters, CCA’s 26th Annual Treasures of Los Angeles Luncheon on May 19 was a tremendous success! With more than 600 local business, political and civic leaders who came to recognize the diversity and excellence of our city, this long-awaited return of Treasures is a reminder that connecting with each other in person truly cannot be replicated in a virtual setting. Working together on the ground and in our neighborhoods is what makes a difference. Now is the time to embrace our collective commitment to our city.

We’re now halfway through 2022, and it’s inspiring to see the extraordinary strides we’ve already made when we focus on our priorities and work together. This year, our safety and wellness initiative successfully engaged residents and business owners to call for proactive, proven public safety resources for Downtown. Due to the hard work of our coalition and Councilmember Kevin de León’s leadership, we secured additional safety and wellness resources for DTLA. With your support, we can make Downtown a more welcoming place for all.

The primary local election on June 7 is just one week ahead of us. Our Political Action Committee endorsed leaders who we believe will act with urgency and support progress on our toughest issues related to safety, homelessness and housing. Please read and share our CCA Voter Guide with recommendations and voting resources to help inform your decisions on this pivotal election. Thank you for your commitment to Downtown and the city’s future.

We also continue to publish thought leadership with recommendations covering a range of issues from housing to spurring economic recovery and are excited to announce two upcoming white papers on building affordable housing at scale and using partnerships to develop more public green spaces. The latter white paper is being published by our reinvigorated nonprofit research and engagement arm, Downtown Works, designed to generate new ideas and bring more experts to the table.

With overwhelming hardship over the last few years that continues to be felt, it’s more important than ever that we leverage our advocacy, expertise, civic engagement and focus on community activation. Fortunately, we have many more opportunities to continue connecting in person to collaborate and find opportunities within our region’s challenges. We encourage you to join us for our summer events – hope to see you there!

In partnership,
