Shane Phillips is the Director of Public Policy for Central City Association (CCA). He helps manage the organization’s advocacy across a range of issues, including housing and land use, transportation, homelessness, environmental sustainability and resiliency, and economic development.
Prior to joining CCA, Shane served as the Project Director for Los Angeles Streetcar, Inc., partnering with LA leadership and local stakeholders to bring streetcar service back to Downtown for the first time in more than 50 years. He also worked as an Associate at Urban One and in the office of Councilmember José Huizar. Before moving to LA, he held a mix of jobs including tuberculosis researcher, Comcast cable technician and UPS supervisor.
Shane is currently a steering committee member for Abundant Housing LA and on the advisory committees of Genesis LA and FASTLinkDTLA. He received a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from University of Washington and a Master of Arts in urban planning and public administration from University of Southern California.
